Problem deleting some Wild Tangent files

Due to an error associated with Spybot (mine not theirs) I now have multiple
versions of Wild Tangent gamechannel and updater. I cannot remove these or
even move them anywhere as I keep getting an error (something to the effect
that the file name extensions aretoo long). I suspect this is conflicting
with some game s/w I want to install, and now it is also preventing me from
having DLL Checker do a full scan of my system (gets hung up at the Wild
Tangent Directory).
I know there's a lot of controversy about Wild Tangent, but I just want to
get the duplicates off my system (including the darn cdaEngine0440.dll which
is apparently always running in background and casuing conflicts). Any
suggestions?

If your struggling, try booting into safe mode with command prompt, and try del filename from a command prompt, the short filename (8.3 version) should be deleteable no matter what the state of the file is in it's long filename form.

Ashleigh,

Thanks. Can you give me the exact command to run: What is the short
filename (8.3 version)? I'd like to remove the entire Wild Tangent
Directory-Can this be done in Safe Mode?
