Hello,
I have managed to create a network between the 2 computers so that
computer A connects directly to the internet and computer B connects
through computer A.
Now, for technical reasons, I need to reverse this so that computer B
connects directly to the internet and computer A connects through
computer B. For some reason I can't manage to make this happen.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi,

I have an ADSL connection. I have configured it initially using the
Network Creation Wizard provided with WindowsXP. I've tried reversing
the order of the connection using the same Wizard but it doesn't work.
I don't know what NAT means, so i can't answer that.
The link you gave leads to downloading a Proxy through which to connect
to the internet. Are you familiar with a way to simply redefine the
existing network connections so that my computer (computer A) can
connect through computer B which connects directly to the internet,
even though the initial definition of the network was reversed?
(Computer A connecting directly to the internet and computer B
connecting through computer A)
Thanks!

Take a look at the networking tutorial at
http://www.homenethelp.com/web/howto/net.asp

It gives exact step by step instruction on how to do home networking for
lots of different situations (direct, router, etc.).

I used this to setup the network between my new Dell Win XP and my old
Aptiva Win 98 (I have a router), and it worked like a champ the first time.
The only issue I ran into was firewalls. Any chance that might be affecting
your setup?

Regards, Will
