Hello all,

I tried to copy files from a CD-ROM (CR-R) to drive C:.
There are two directories on my CD-ROM. When i copied the
files in the first directories, the copy was successful.
But when i tried to copy the files from the second
directory, it failed. It gave me this error message -
Cannot copy Filename: cannot copy from the source file or
disk.
After a little investigation, i realised that the file
attributes in the second directory are all READ-ONLY,
whereas there is no file attributes on the files in the
first directory.

Is this what causing the copying problem? And how can i
overcome the problem???

Thanx in advance.

Unlikely. It sounds like a problem with the CD. Check for scratches and if
possible try reading it in another PC.

The READ-ONLY flag does not lock the copy because to copy you have ONLY TO READ the file
The problem may be in an other point
Are you able to open the files on the CD ?
Is the CD corrupted ?

Good luc

Is it a multi-session CD? perhaps the second session was not finalized.
