Problem Converting one Database

I have Access 2000, when I try to open one particular Access 97 database, I
get the normal Convert or Open window, I pick Convert, enter the name for the
new database, the progress bar goes by, but nothing happens, no new database
is created.
If I pick Open, nothing happens there, either, it just goes back to the
regular nothing open access window.
I tried the latest office 2000 SP3, didn't help. It only happens on this
one database, which opens fine in Access 97. I've tried it on another
computer, and the same thing happens.
Any ideas?

Try opening the Access 2000 app and there, using the Tools option, convert
the Access 97 databases. It should give you a choice to create a new
database using a different name. Then rename the Access 97 Db to a
different name and rename the newly created DB to your previous Access 97
DB. This is assuming you are allowed to do this. I am using Access 2003 so
the DB upgrade might be different.

In addition to Ben's solution - try creating a new, empty database in
A2000. Then use File... Get External Data... Import to import
everything from the A97 database. Import the tables first; the macros
and modules, if any; then import Forms and Reports one (or a few) at a
time. It may be that one of them is corrupt.

It's ESSENTIAL that you have a clean database before converting. Be
sure to open the database in A97; open the VBA editor and compile
(make sure there are no compilation errors), and Compact the database.
