problem connecting computer to home network

I had two computers on my home network. I recently formatted one of them.
After I reinstalled windows i was able to connect it to my network. Now, It
has disconnected and I can't seem to set up my network. I tried the
diagnostic tool and it failed to ping the computer which is still on the
network. Any suggestions??? Thanks.
