Problem clearing outbox

I need help clearing my outbox. Itried sending a large
file several days ago and now the message is just stuck
in the Outbox; it's going nowhere and I can't delete it.
Please help!!!

Highlight message and hold the shift key down while hitting the delet

Have you tried to disable the nic (first) and then delete
it?
