Problem capturing a still pic from DVD movie to clipboard and copy to paint?

Hello, I am trying to capture a still picture from a home DVD movie by using
"PRINTSCREEN" on a paused scene. (Have Tried "Ctrl Printscreen"", "Alt
Printscreen", "Shift Printscreen" with same results.). I then paste image
from the clipboard into Windows Paint OR PaintSop Pro. The image appears to
copy, actually appears in the Paint Programs new file area, yet when I save
the image, the file is nothing but black background. I have saved off in
BMP, GIF, JPG and PSP file formats with same results. It appears that the
image isn't really being copied into the paint programs even though visually
it is there. Have tried every option to paste the copied image from the
clipboard with no success. Any help appreciaed. Thank you. Using Windows XP
SP2. Windows Media Player/Power DVD. Windows Paint/PaintShop Pro. Have tried
all combinations.

The PrintScreen will not work with most video players - the image is stored
in a different area of memory than where the basic screen image is.

Using PowerDVD - there's a Capture button that looks like 35mm camera -
that will do what you want, with more options of storing the image.
