I have recently used windows update to bring my XP Home
edition to the very latest standard. The only problem i
have is that if a right click on the desktop, select
properties and then desktop to change backgrounds or
themes the PC crashes with a message to send to microsoft.
In the event viewer it says Rundll32.exe had some problem
with mshtml.dll.

I have checked against a backup i did a few weeks ago and
the mshtml.dll version has certainly changed. I have found
one other person on the internet with exactly the same
problem but he hasn't found a fix yet either.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Dave

Something similar happened to me. THe problem that i had
they say you have to repair the XP files with an XP
install disk. Bunch of my .dll files got messed up and I
couldn't even start my computer.

Hi I anm not sure but if you go back to MC upadtes i
think you will find an update there to fix the one you
have if i remember right it is in the XP updates you can
but give it a try
