How does XP decide that a documenmt is read only and oraccess is denied. this is done without my knowledge or permission. once is is on a file how do you get rid of it. Tools=options=security= read only recommended has not been checked. Going back to the folder ; clicking properties unclicking read only attribute does not change anything. as soon as I go out . When I come back in, the read only attribure check is there again. t when I bring up the file the task bar at the top of the file reads (read only) in the title.
