Problem #1 Missing Table in Append Query

C

Cheval

I'm getting weird problems in Office 2003 SP3.

The first one is simple to reproduce.

1) Create a new blank database.
2) Add a new table "Table_1" and add a field. Doesn't matter what either are
really.
3) Add a second table "Table_2" and again another field.
4) Create a blank query and add the Table_2
5) Select the append query option and look in the combo table list. Where is
Table_1?

It appears to not see the first table in the database???

Anyone else have this problem?

I have 2003 and don't have this problem. Like most stuff dependent on
Microsoft "permission"/"Controls" my auto updates for office seldom work,
and break more than they fix, so I don't know (or care to know) which SP mine
is.

Hi Fred,

Check your Help->About for the version release. I've only started noticing
it in Microsoft Access SP3

Further to this. Microsoft is currently creating a Hotfix for this. If you
want it to be created more quickly, please open a (free because it's a know
bug) support case and get your name added to the currently list.

database window) not appearing in the avaliable list for append query.
Anyone found a solution?

Cheval,
Forgive my ignorance but where do I go to add my name to the list for
the hotfix - I'm not a big believer in MS response to support
requests, so not sure how to connect myself to this list - I have SP3
and exactly the same problem as you are discussing here
