I have downloaded and tried 3 different programs to burn pics to a dvd. All 3
have rebooted my computer during the process. Tried Roxio, Nero and Windows
Media. Is this a prob with my computer? Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks for any help.

That's good that you like & recommend the Penguin, but how does that
help the OP with their problem ? Instead of just blindly recommending it,
are you willing to help install/configure/setup and teach it ? Easy to just
pitch off a "Join our Camp" suggestion, altogether different helping to get
it up and running.

Linux is fine, I use Red Hat - but it hasn't reached the usability level
needed
for the average PC user.

OH MY GOD, do you not understand, the linux thing is my signature, thats why
it appears under the line, as it will do in this post, it is not part of my
answer, it is meant as a bit of fun, please get a life or get a sense of
humour!!!! i suggest you change your sig to BORING

Appreciate the explanation - did not realize it was an "Empty" post
with just a signature. Already have a life, pretty old one in fact. Can't
say for sure, but believe my sense of humor is still in tact. And yes,
now that you've explained it - I can see the humorous intent. Sorry.

Your tag line is humorous. "try try Linux" would seem to indicate that
you aren't going to have much success there either.
apology accepted ;-)

And since he's posting using the web interface, I guess he hasn't
figured out how to use a newsreader in his distro of choice.

Not sure what you mean I downloaded complete programs assuming it included
everything I needed. Is anyone going to offer any serious suggestions?

nice one gentlemen, yes i do have a news reader, but being the nice guy i am,
i am answering all these from work, and we only have a certain amount of
access and programs we can use becasue of our nice IT dept, but hey if i can
help someone out then its worth it, ta ta old beans....... ;-)

But you *aren't* helping anyone. You don't quote properly and you give
ridiculous answers that at best are useless and at worst could cause
some real damage to the OP. If you were really a "nice guy" you'd
change your ways or find another venue in which to "help" people.

There isn't any way for us to tell what the problem with your computer
is because you haven't provided enough information. By "downloaded" I
assume you mean you "installed" various burning programs. You need to
give more information such as the make/model of your DVD drive, whether
it came with the computer or is old, if it ever worked, etc. If you
installed the burner itself, did it come with software? Or did you go
to the store and buy Roxio and Nero (approximately $100 each program)?

It can be difficult for a non-technical person to know what to include
in a post to a tech support newsgroup. Here is a link that will help
you with that:

Post back with pertinent details for focused troubleshooting.
