Private Folder - Access Denied

I have recently installed Win XP Pro and had a problem
which resulted in boot failure from my hard disk. I have
now got hold of another hard disk and stuck XP on that in
order to be able to read my old hard disk. This seemed to
work until I tried to access a 'private' folder
named 'Antony' in which the 'my documents' folder is
located. I get an 'access denied' message.

So I changed the option from 'simple file sharing' and
changed the owner of the 'Antony' folder to my new
username. Now I can now access the Antony dir, which I
couldn't previously, and can now see the subdirs but can
still not access the subfolders in this. I get the
message 'access denied' again and cannot change the owner
as before.

Please can someone help as I urgently need to get access
to my files?!?!

Cheers,

Antony Wiatr

When you take ownership of the primary folder, make sure you check the box for Replace owner on all subcontainers and objects.
