PrintScreen needed for Dos program

Had a looooong time dos user's 6.22 pc finally give up the ghost.
He runs a dos program full screen and now of course can't hit the print
screen button and send the screen to his printer.
Does he have to buy a program or is there a secret hack?
Thanks in advance.
I did try testing a Gadwin Printscreen freeware product under 2000 but the
image is all black.
