Printing

Tom

I have a Win XP Home edition, SP3.

I am trying to print to a HP Laser jet 5l connected to the LPT1 port, I am
using the parallel port on the PC.
The Com & LPT ports were hidden in the Dev Man, I have revealed them but
they are faded out and the device enabled is not showing on the Gen tab.
When I connect the printer the PC does not see it.

I cannot print anything from this port. I have check ed the printer & cable
on another PC Win XP Prof SP3 and it see it immediately.

There seeme to be no connectivity via the parallel port, hoew can I resolve
this.
All suggestions gratefully received.

This printer predates Windows XP by 3/4 years. I user one and a 6L and
found they were both prone to paper jams. Since my experience I would
not buy a vertical feed printer again

Thanks Gerry, printer not a problem works fine and had new pick up roller
inside, for a few pounds.
Problem is how to enable the parallel port, which seems to have been disabled.
Cant find anything on BIOSA, maybe a regedit needed.
Thanks for manual

Maybe this would help enable the parallel port?
