Printing the e-mail message with the attachment

Hello everybody:
When we print any e-mail with attachments, the attachments (the file names
and the logos) to the e-mail is not showing on the printed page. We have
tried different printers with different drivers but the result was the same:
the attachemnts did not print. Any idea how to fix this?

You must open the attachments. They may each require a different program to
open for printing, e.g. Excel for .xls, Word for .doc, Photoshop for .psd...

This assumes that you simply want to print the email, and show the name and
icon of the attachment printed in the body of the email. If you want to print
the actual attachment, you have to open it first.

Yes I need the printed e-mail to show the name of the files and icon.
I have tried what you suggeted by going to Tools/Options/Mail Format under
Message Format I checked the box for "use MS Office Word to read rich text
e-mail messages". Then clicked on Apply and OK. But it did not help. I also
closed OL and reopened it and evern restarted my PC but still attachments
(the file names and the icons) did not print when I printed my e-mails. We
use OL 2002. I have tried this on a test machine with OL 2003, the symptoms
are the same.
Any idea what else I should try? Did I go to the right setting to change the
format you suggested ?

Hi Sam
Uncheck the box that says to use Microsoft word to read rich text. Just
change the actual format to rich text from the drop down box. That should do
what you want. Let me know what happens.

Thanks for your help. I see the file names now. But shouldn't I also be able
to see the icons as well?

That I would have assumed to be the case, but I don't use the same version of
Outlook as you. Perhaps someone else will be able to answer this for you. You
may simply need to restart Outlook or restart the PC, but there could be more
to it. I'm really sorry I can't be more help.
