Printing Subreport in Columns

I have a subreport placed in the detail section of my main
report. I want this section to print in 3 columns. If I
change the page setup for my main report to columns it
also prints the group header and footer in the column
format. If I change the subreport to print columns this
setup does not carry over into the main report.

The columns in the subreport must go across then down.
