When using a shared network printer hosted on a Windows 2003 Server SP2
system the client WinXP Pro SP2 gets repeated Event ID: 20 errors and updates
printer drivers when there is no need to.

Hi Matt,

Possibly try logging in as Administrator and allow the update to
perform, and then test it again.

Is the "shared" printer on another workstation or does it have it's own
IP?

The drivers are installed on a separate machine with its own IP address and
the printer itself has its own IP address.

I have tried clearing the driver and reinstalling it multiple times and I
get the same result.

Did you log in as Administrator to do it as I suggested?

Well, there you are. The drivers have to be installed on the machine
generating the printout.

Best to create a new thread with your new question then tack it on as a
reply to another thread. You need to give specifics of the system, any
changes that were made to it before this happened, when the error comes up
and what the exact nature of the error.
