Printing On Envelopes

It's Christmas time again and I'm trying to print addresses (sending and
return) on envelopes. I'm using Mail Merge in Word; I pick custom envelope and
try to put the sending addresses down towards the bottom right hand side of the
envelope. I adjust the top and sides and what the little sample envelope on the
screen shows is pretty much what I want. No matter what I do when the envelope
prints the address is smack dab in the center of the envelope. The return
address shows not at all. I can live with putting return address stickers on
the envelopes but I'd really like to get the addresses in the right place. Any
ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Last year it worked like a charm; this year,
not.

Thanks in advance,
Steve Ignots

Have you selected the correct Envelope Size?

Have you tried the "FORM LETTERS" option in the Mail Merge process?
Assuming you are doing one envelope at a time (or printing to envelopes --
not labels...) just set your paper size to the envelope size, landscape,
set margins.... Then insert the return address where you want it -- and
next insert the merge fields posititioned exactly as you want them (set tab
and tab to appropriate position). When you run the merge --- each envelope
should have the text positioned EXACTLY as the original one!

Good Luck!

The problem is that my envelope is a custom size 200mm wide and 140mm high
which I duly note to Word when I pick custom envelope (or whatever the inch
choice closest to 200x140 are). Steve

Kate, the problem is that my printer takes the envelopes sideways so it
wouldn't be landscape would it? In this case I need the printing to print
sideways-coud you do that in Form Letters? Steve

Graham, it's late as I'm reading from the site you posted but it looks like it
should work. I will work on tomorrow night and let you know. THANKS! Steve
