Printing on a "metal clasp" envelope - Samsung 2150 printer - is this OK?

Hi all,

My printer is a Samsung 2150, and I would like to print onto the
manila-colored 9 x 12 envelopes with the fold over flap with the metal
clasp.

Is it safe to run one of these envelopes through my Samsung?

Thanks

Don't even comtemplate it. You will seriously damage the printer, any printer
in fact that is not designed specifically for this sort of work. Depending on
where the envelope finally jams in the printer (and it will jam) you will
damage the Drum, transfer roller and fuser and quite possibly other components.
Consider printing labels instead but only use label stock that is designed for
laser printers (or risk damage to the fuser), and use the multipurpose tray and
rear exit to ensure as flat a paper path as possible.

Even if you can get past the fact that the clasp and the thickness of the
envelope, how are you going to get past the fact that the widest paper size
is 8.5".

Are you planning to also see if you can fold the envelope to make it
narrower?

Tony,

Thanks. I kind of suspected that the answer would be a resounding
NO!! but you know, I had to ask.
