Printing multiple pages

When I wish to print multiple pages in Word (such as 2,4,6-8), Word prints out completely different pages. I use page numbering different than standard 1,2,3, etc. I use i, ii, iii for the Table of Contents, and 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2 etc. for Chapter pages. When I ask to print page 2, I get ii even though it is the third page (the cover page is not numbered). If I want page 1-2 or page 2-2, and ask it to print page 2, it defaults to the first "2", which is ii. If I wish to print page 3-7 (which is page 18 in the document) and I ask it to print page 18, it prints nothing because the 18 does not show up in the page number in the footer. I usually end up doing a Print Current Page for each separate page needed, which is very time consuming and inefficient. Does anybody have any solutions

Hi Bob,
Since you have section breaks, you have to tell Word which page in which
section, not just page number. Look up "Print specific pages and sections"
in Help.
I think your page 18ff would be p3s2-p7s2, but am not totally sure. If no
one corrects me, assume it's right. But Help will confirm as well, and you
should be able to Print Preview from the print dialog to check what pages
you are getting.
