printing labels directly from excel

Hi,
is there a way to print mailing labels directly from excel without having to
begin from word....like access allows you to create labels directly.

Excel alone is poorly suited for this task. It has no label-creating functions.

You can, by trial and error print labels, but Word's mailmerge function is much
easier.
