Printing handouts - I cannot remove page numbering

When printing handouts, date and page number are printed in header and footer
(respectively) by default. I cannot remove them just by unchecking the box in
Options > Header and Footer.
I found a solution for date - if I pick Fixed (Date), and make the field
blank, the date in header is not printed. That leaves me with page numbering
I cannot get rid of. The same thing happens on my friend's computer.
Any ideas? Is it a bug? Thanks.

Thank you, your suggestion solved the problem.
However, I still think it is a bug beacuse the same thing works if I print
just slides. And slide master has page numbering in footer exactly like
handouts master. So it should work or not work in both cases.

FIXED Re: Printing handouts - I cannot remove page numbering

in Powerpoint 2007, go to the View tab at the top.

Click on Handout Master under the Presentation Views

There you can delete the date and Page Number boxes

Click close master view

When you print now they will be gone
