Printing gradients

K

KK

Running PowerPoint 2002 and XP.

I am having trouble printing items with different
gradients (transparency levels). I have a page with
several objects, each containing one of five colors and
one or five transparency levels. I can't get the page to
print the different transparency levels.

More details . . .

- I select Fill Effects from the Drawing toolbar
- On the gradients tab, I select the color, the
transparency (ranging from 0%/0% to 75%/75%), and the
shading style (From Center on this particular page)
- When I print, the various colors print with the From
Center shading style, but without any difference in
transparency level (all printing is at 0%/0%).

Any help in fixing this problem would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

Fundamental problem is that gradient transparency printing doesn't seem to work
very well. Or at all on some printers.

If it's practical, choose the shapes that have transparency applied AND any
shapes underneath them, press Ctrl+C to copy them to the clipboard.

Then choose Edit, Paste Special, as PNG.

If that looks right, delete the original shapes (or do so after saving the
presentation to a new name so you can go back to the originals if need be)
