I didn't realise these got e-mailed to you.

The Printer Wizard in Windows XP Pro SP1 keeps saying it
found new hardware, a printer, twice EVERY time I boot up.
I have tried everything you have suggested here, and I
mean everything. The BIOS setting is the one you suggest,
and always was, I have tried all the unistalling and
cleaning out of drivers..etc. Nothing has worked. It is
getting very frustrating now. Any suggestions beyond what
you have suggested before and to other people who have
posted to this group. I've tried checking for virus and
cleaning the rigstry of junk..everything!!!

Go into the BIOS and change the LPT port settings to EPP.

They don't get emailed to her. It is a newsgroup you can subscribe to on
your email program like Outlook Express or MS Outlook or probably any email
client.

Hi,
It goes something like: Windows has detected new hardware.
Add New Printer wizard is launched. Click Cancel. Windows
could not install new hardware message. Repeat process
for second time. Get frustrated with Microsoft. Carry on
using computer.

Correction it goes through the Add New HardWare wizard
twice. NOT the add printer wizard.
