printer troubles

I have a dell inspiron 9300 and am trying to connect a deskjet 1120c to my
computer. Is there any software that I need to download for this and if then
where could I find it. Also, my printer's lights keep flashing and I was
hoping I could get reasons for this. Thank you!

You'll need the printer drivers, at the very least. HP might also
offer other print-control utilities. Check HP's web site.

Also, my printer's lights keep flashing and I was

The explanation of the flashing lights will be explained in the
printer's manual, and probably on HP's support web site.
