Actually, the problem is -- at least in part -- caused by Microsoft.

In addition to the advice in the articles above, there apparently is a
WordPerfect fix for this problem: Hot Patch 4 (

you really should ask at the news group below concerning which, if any,
service packs and Hot Patches you need to install BEFORE you install Hot
Patch 4.
