Print to File

I saved a payment confirmation web page to the desktop by selecting the "Print to File" option on the print menu.
It cannot be viewed because of the PRN extention. The MS Knowledge base says that's because of the
printer control characters. Does anyone know of a viewer for print files? If it can't be done within XP Pro then
why does MS allow the option?
