print screen key not working

Every time I try to use the prtScn key it doesn't work.
I know that after I click it I have to paste in some place, like Paint or
Word, but there is nothing to paste.
Any Idea why is this happening?

What's on the screen when you press the "PrintScreen" key? SOME
material, like the images in media players and some 3d graphics
applications, are generated though a process that the code behind the
"PrintScreen" key.
