Print report using 2 columns one record in each column?

I have a report called called workticket. Workticket currently prints one
record per page. The layout of workticket is long and narrow. When printed,
more than half of a page is wasted. What I would like to do is have two
columns and print one record in each column or two worktickets per page. I
set page set-up to Under Grid Settings, in the Number Of Columns box = 2, In
the Row Spacing box = 0, In the Column Spacing box = 0, Column Size =
3.4688", Height = 7.2083". No matter what I seem to do, nothing works so
far... So My question is how can I have my report print one record on each
half the the page?

What are the Left and Right Margins? Are the columns set to display Across
Then Down?

R & L margins are 0 and the columns are set to display down then accross.

Try set the display to Across then Down. Also, I'm not sure how you can set
R & L margins of a report to 0 since most printers won't print right up to
the sides of the paper.

I tried Across then Down with no effect. The R & L marigns are actully .125.
I entered 0 but I guess the minimum is .125. I can see that the workticket
report is not thin enough to easily fit accross twice with a total of 1,25'
to spare. Is there anything else that it could be?

How about top and bottom margins as well as page headers and footers? Is
your report width the same as the column width?

Duane,

Yes the width of the report is the same as the column. In fact, the box is
checked to match the column to the detail width of the report which is
3.2917" wide by 7.1979" height. The top and bottom Margin are 0.3. What could
it be?

I can't tell. Try remove a bunch of controls to make the detail section
smaller to see if you can trouble-shoot.

Duane,

I squeezed my form to about 2.5 inches and still, no go. In the page set-up
I have two columns and I set the columns match the width and length then made
the columns larger than the form and then tried smaller but that did not work
either. I have adjusted the margins as previously mentioned. I am thinking it
is something else. Is there some setting inside the report that must be set
to allow the report to be printed using columns?

Thanks,

Dennis

Columns are determined by values in the Page Setup. Do more trouble-shooting
such as trying to create a new report. Maybe try the label wizard which can
create multi-column reports.

Duane,

I removed the part of my report that was in the Page header and pasted it to
the detai then deleted the group header and the column option worked? Thank
you for your help.
