If you are referring to Word 2007 uncheck Magnifier box so the cursor
becomes a visible mark so you can see where the cursor is on screen - when
finished check the Magnifier box.

Hope this helps if it is right Version of Word.
 
The same thing works in Word 2003 and earlier, where the Magnifier tool is
the 2nd from the left in the default Print Preview toolbar.
