Print notification after installing SP2

I have started installing service pack 2 on Windows XP Pro PC's in a domain
evironment (server 2003). Since doing this on several test PC's, they are
now getting print notification pop-ups when printing to network printers. I
do not need the notifications. I have found a registry edit that claims to
disable the notification, but I want to be sure that this is the best method
(and will not cause other problems)

The edit is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings

change the following:

Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: EnableBalloonNotificationsRemote
Value: 0

Thank you

try this, go to printers and faxes on the start menue, click on tools,
folder options, choose veiw, scrool through the list and uncheck show pop up
descriptions.

peace :-)

Hi,

This can be done in a logon script, or you can push out that registry
value with a GPO using a custom administrative template ("tattooing"
the registry on the clients):
