When i create a new word document, only the first page of
the document will show up on the screen (in print layout)
and in the print preview. Only the first page will print
as well. When i switch to normal, the entire document is
visible when i scroll down, but again only he first page
is shown under print preview and only the first page will
print.

Any suggestions?

This is a bizarre problem that seems to be surfacing a lot lately. First
check to make sure that you're not typing in a text box or wrapped table
(unlikely). Then go to Format | Columns and make sure that the number of
columns is set to 1. One of my fellow MVPs looked at a document that was
exhibiting this problem and found that it had two columns, of which the
second had become very narrow and was outside the right margin.
