print layout view

hi there

i opened a document from a friend which caused my print layout view to change.

i now have four "L"s (two forward and two backwards in light grey) that
outline the margins. (i know they outline the margins because if i go into
page setup and change the page margins, these little half squares move with
the margins)

i really dislike seeing them there, as i find them distracting.

could someone please tell me how to get rid of them?
i'm running word 2003.
