Print Layout View default

We are running Office 2000. From what I can tell there is no option to
"allow starting in reading layout" that we can uncheck.

Recently a user is having documents start in the view setting. Would like
to force all current and future doc's to open in normal view.

Any ideas???

does apply to Word 2000.

If you also want to force existing documents to open in normal view
regardless of how they were last saved, you need a macro in the
Normal.dot template (see http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm):

Sub AutoOpen()
ActiveWindow.View = wdNormalView
End Sub
