How to use a shared printer on a workgroup PC from a domain PC. I had 2
network in 2 sites.
Site A has a Win2k/WinXP stations workgroup with no servers.
Site B has a handful of Win2k Pro station with Win2k server.

Laptops that are logon onto cached network credentials on site B, cannot
access share resources on Site A prompting that there no logon servers can be
found.

The only way is to logon to a local profile to use the network printer on
site A.
However is there any alternative to using local profile? that is to stay
within the network profile.

The domain/workgroup model has no effect on your access permissions -
it just makes administration easier because it allows central storage of
logon credentials.

If a workgroup user logs on as JSmith/SomePassword, and if there
is a current account JSmith/SomePassword on the domain server, then
JSmith will have access to the resources on that server. When he
changes his local password then someone must also change his
domain password.

Hi,

Right now, I am having the problem of network user unable to access the
workgroup shared printer not the other way round.

Apparently the win2k pro laptop in Site A is looking for the win2k DC (site
B) to validate the user, which it does not see it and prompts for the domain
inaccessible message.
