Primary Monitor

I want to watch a film on my TV from the CD in the Laptop.
I have been to Control Panel - Display and done everything as instructed but
the only thing
I can see on the TV is the cursor and I can also hear the sound.
Where can I get a step by step instructions on how to make my TV the primary
monitor please?.
 
David, you probably need Software like WinDVD. Do you have a Dvd drive?
Do you have a Graphics Card that's capable and has the right Output
Connectors.
