Quick Folders: Redistributable

According to the webpage, you've asked the author, but it bounced.

However, in the readme included in the download zip-file it says:

"This software is a FREEWARE.
That is it can be freely installed and used without
any limitations. This software may be distributed
freely on online services, bulletin boards, or other
electronic media as long as the files are distributed
in their entirety."

Susan,

It says on the webpage that your email bounced for

Oscar's File Renamer.

I don't know which address you used, but due to overabundance of spam, the
author has changed his email-address from oscar to rv (noted on his
website).

rv at mediachance dot com

I don't know which one you used and bounced, but I'd guess the last one
would be the most appropriate...

Think of it from the customers point of view.
He will probably see a list of distributors with suitably munged email
addresses in this newsgroup and on the PL site.
He chooses to approach one he thinks is suitable, from geographical
location and maybe the personality of the distributor.

So there is no reason for you to "split it up".
That will be up to the customer.

Or, does anybody have a better idea?

I worked feverishly all day. . . ;)
I rushed to the Post Office just before they closed. . .
Some CDs are on their way. :)

Unfortunately I have to fill out a customs slip for each CD that is
leaving the country. . . and there wasn't enough time to do that before
the post office closed. . .

So the remaining CDs won't go into the mail until tomorrow. ;(

Sneak preview of some of the miscellaneous stuff:

the cover graphic:

the readme file:

the program list:

and the checksum:

I sure hope I haven't made any *big* mistakes. ;)

Are you the person who wants to distribute it in Thailand?

Email your address to me (remove whoi) and I'll mail you a copy tomorrow.

WHAT !?

Recently as January, she R&R'd, so let's not get carried away.

Surely we can ensure a long and full todo list to cover the weekend.

Ohh. Well that's different. Back to the salt mines for her then. They
won't tend themselves you know! ;)

Hi Poko,

Achim is in Canada too. You might try doing it the way car salesman do -
just take turns responding to the requests.

our preliminary plan is here:

http://www.pricelessware.org/2004/proposal-CD.htm

1. A requestor posts a request for a copy of the CD.

2. A volunteer (anyone who has previously obtained a copy of the CD can
volunteer) posts a response agreeing to burn a copy of the CD for the
requestor.

3. The participants exchange address information off-list.

The general idea is that each person can decide when and how many CDs
they are willing to make. If you're out of town, someone else can
respond etc. etc. etc. If *nobody* responds, the requestor can repost.

I think I'll start a thread for requests tomorrow (when hopefully my
brain will be functioning better). . .

re distribution:

I'm going to offer a copy to my local library - for them to lend out.
Will report back on their response. I'm also thinking about senior
centers. Does anybody have any other suggestions for good places to
distribute copies?
