I have had a problem in Windows Mail (Vista) for quite a while now. I use
the Preview Pane all the time, and I have modified my toolbar to add the
button for it to easily turn it off or on, or display it horizontally or
vertically, and be able to turn the headers on and off.

But my problem is I can no longer re-size the Preview Pane itself !! In
either vertical or horizontal mode, it shows up at about the middle and no
matter what I do i can't change the size of it. I hover the mouse all around
the split area, with the header both on and off, and I can never get the
re-size arrows to appear !! Although once in a blue moon I have in the past
actually had the arrows show up and was able to make the size change. But
then later, back to locked in mode for the Pane size...... Closing and
re-opening Windows Mail doesn't help, rebooting doesn't help. I really
don't want to reinstall Vista just to fix this. All my Vista updates are up
to date. I haven't seen anyone else with this problem after searching the
forums. WHAT DO I DO ?!?

Anyone, please help me understand what is wrong.

Thanks.

Set it so the Message list is above the preview pane and so that the preview
pane header shows. Then stick the mouse just below the horizontal scroll
bar of the message list and the preview pane header top. There is a very
fine line and you should get the change of mouse cursor when you hit that
area.

If that doesn't help, then changing the DPI might (right click the Desktop
and Personalize and then on the left is the DPI option).
