Preview file activiation from open file menu

When trying to open a file, I would like to be able to
preview the file highlighted to see if I am selecting the
correct file. This is available to me in Word, but not
Excel. Can this function be activated? I am using
Microsoft XP
 
The workbook would need a saved preview picture in it. This is set on the
Summary tab under File, Properties.
