Preventing the hyperlink base from disappearing after a save

Gary

After creating a spreadsheet with many hyperlinks, I have
entered the hyperlink base in
the 'File'>'Properties'>'Summary'>'Hyperlink base' box.
I find that when the spreadsheet is saved, closed and then
reopened, the hyperlink base entry disappears from
the 'Summary' section!
How do you prevent this from happening?
If you want to make changes to such a spreadsheet, you
have to religiously remember to re-enter the hyperlink
base, otherwise if the document is saved without the
reentry, all the hyperlinks will be lost - very annoying!!
Is it possible that the root of the problem is with using
multiple versions of Office on a company network, i.e.
there is a bug?
Strangely, a hyperlink base saved within a Word document
does not disappear.
I can not imagine that my company is alone with this
problem.
