Hello,

How do I prevent the datavase window from opening when the shidt key is held
down? I always thought it was in the Startup options, by unchecking the Use
Special Access keys checkbox. That didn't do it however.

Thanks for any help.

God Bless,

Do a search. Asked and answered all the time.

Go to Google and click "groups".

Then type...

microsoft.public.access bypass shift key

Why are you holding down the shift key. That is used
specifically to GET the database window. Most notably
when a production mde file is launched and one needs
to gain access to the database window when most of
the menu-bar is vacant.

Rick,

Thanks... I didn't know that feature would bring up newsgroup theads.
That'll help in the future.

Mark

Exactly, which is what I want to prevent. I want to distribute an .ade and
don't want to allow access to the SQL Server tables.

I miss-interpreted your question. However, Rick didn't and
that's all that matters.
