Prevent backend from being deleted

I have a split database on a network with the front end on each users
computer.

The back-end is located in a folder with limited access to the users of the
database, myself and the IT person.

How can I prevent the back-end from accidentally being deleted?

I got the IT person to set up permissions on the folder so as the users
cannot delete files as you suggested.
