Preserving Pivot Table Formatting

Hi All,

I've noticed a few threads related to the topic of preservingi table
formats after a refresh, but after trying all the suggestions (along
with Contexture's tip on the issue), many of my tables still loose
their formatting after the table is refreshed. Simple formatting too
- like horizontal and verticle lines.

What I've also noticed, though, is that if you select each cell, one
at a time, and format the cell, there's a better chance that
formatting will stick. But its not 100%.

Does anyone know "why" there is formatting loss upon refresh? I'm
using Excel 2003.

If you turn off the "AutoFormat" option in the table options you
should be fine; autoformatting standardizes the table format
regardless (for the most part) of previous changes.

Thanks Jake,

Yea, I have the AutoFormat disabled, Preserve Formatting turned on,
all that. The formatting retention problem seems to be a common one -
probably linked to the way pivots are treated in Excel (behind the
scenes). Sure wish MS would put out a patch or something.
