Prescott or Not

Hiya

I have a P4P800 mobo....Just need flash the bios to get to be Prescott
ready.
I have P4 3GHz HT Northwood on P4P800.

But can any one tell me if a Prescott P4 is the same a P4 Exteame Edition.

The reason is that I have a P4 Exteame Edition on my desk at work and CPU-Z
reports that it is a GALLATIN chip.
I have not heard of the Gallatin.

Can anyone help me out, and tell me what is what..

the p4EE is not a prescott cpu!
it's based on the 0.13 northwood core with L3 cache.

The Intel P4 Extreme Edition is NOT a Prescott. Intel is having trouble
with the temperature of the Prescott's and so won't be releasing them until
at least the end of February.

A P4 EE is just a P4 with 2MB L2 (3?) cache as far as i know

Any chipset that supports a 800fsb cpu should support the EE cpu's

P4P800 lists:

P4-3.20 GHz Extreme Edition (800 MHz FSB) (HT) Board_rev=ALL BIOS >= 1012

For the Prescott you'll need a good fan and a stout power cord for the
computer
