'preparing to install' message

Every time I access Word, I get the 'preparing to install' message. I use
Word frequently so it is obviously installed. It is frustrating to receive
this delay every time I access Word. Any recommendations on how to fix will
be greatly appreciated.
 
You don't say what version you have, but try these KB articles:
