Preemptive Solutions 'dotfuscator' not working

X

xzzy

VS version 2003 and all current Windows updates
Preemptive Solutions: Dotfuscator version 1.1.1019.141017
properly registered

Does nothing.

It starts but never finishes, even if left running for 24 hours, and the
app's dll is only 500k.

This is Preemptive Solutions Dotfuscator that ships with Microsoft's Visual
Studio 2003, so I would expect Dotfuscator to:

1. Do what it says it will do

Preemptive says "They do not provide support for this"

I need a solution,

Thank you for any help you can provide

?

I need a solution,

http://www.preemptive.com/products/dotfuscator/FAQ.html#Edition diffs

Says:

#What are the differences between the Professional and Community
#Editions of Dotfuscator?
#
# The Professional Edition provides superior protection to foil
#decompilation, size reduction to conserve memory and improve load
#times, deep Visual Studio.NET integration for seamless configuration,
#incremental obfuscation to release patches, watermarking to track
#pirates and phone and email technical support.
#
# The Community Edition is an entry level obfuscator included in the
#Professional and Enterprise SKUs of Visual Studio.NET 2003 and the
#Standard and Professional SKUs of Visual Studio 2005 and the Architect,
#Developer, Test, and Suite SKUs of Visual Studio Team System. In order
#to run, the Community Edition requires that Visual Studio also be
#running. It is targeted at students and freeware authors.

which is very clear: if you need support then you need to pay for the
professional version.

You could try an alternative product and see if you are lucky.
