Good morning,
I cannot install this pre-RC1. After a while, during the files copying, I
get this message :
Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be
corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are
available, and restart the installation. Error code : 0x80070241.

The iso File is OK. I tried two software to burn, same result. No problem to
install Beta 2.
I tried clean install, upgrade, from XP or from Vista. No way.

Any idea ?

Thanks for answers.

Jean-Marc.

Did you use Nero to burn it?
I just looked for this error on Google and there are quite alot of people
with the same problem, one thing that strikes me though is that many of them
have used Nero to create the DVD. It may just be a coincidence as Nero is
quite popular, but it is worth trying to burn another disc. I was
successful using Ashampoo burning studio, you can get a free trial from
their website. Also try burning at a slow speed.
Like I say, it may not be Nero related but worth considering.

Hi,

How are you installing? I've seen this error most frequently when a boot
manager is in use and Vista does not have access to writing to the mbr. I've
also seen it when RAID drives are in use and no driver is loaded.

I get the error when installing, regardless of how I try. I have tried
booting to Vista and trying the upgrade path, booting from DVD and trying a
clean install, booting to XP and trying both clean and upgrade. None seem to
work. I burned my DVD with Roxio.

Any suggestions?

Yes, Beck, thanks for your help, I burned with nero and with Ones. And yes,
I did it at the lowest speed.
I will try with Ashampoo and let you know.

Thanks again.

Hello Rick, thanks for your help,
That is another possibility, since I used Vista boot pro. I will try without
and let you know.
I have raid drives too but the drivers have been loaded for Beta 2. May be I
have to load again ? A try too.
Thanks.

Finally, it works. What did I do ?
I burned the iso file with my laptop (soft is Roxio), may be the burner of
my PC was defective ? Will continue to check this point later.
And I upgrade from Vista 5384, after desinstalling Vista Boot Pro.
I tried to do it from XP, adding Raid drivers during installation, but it
failed with the message described by Rick below : no access to MBR. Strange
because Vista boot pro was already desinstalled but maybe I forgot to make a
restart.
Anyway, thanks for your help. I will test now but I do not see big changes
except that my printer is now installed (HP PSC 2210) and that's great !

Jean-Marc.
