Pre-1995 Word document will not load up in Word 2003

I picked up a word document from our archive - dated 3 November 1994. When I
try to open it in Microsoft Office Word 2003, it says:

"You are attempting to open a file that was created in an earlier version of
Microsoft Office. This file type is blocked from opening in this version by
your registry policy setting."

How do I change the registry poilicy setting so that it will let me read my
own document?!

SP3 for Office 2003 blocks certain older file types from opening.
To unblock them, see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=922849
"You receive an error message when you try to open or to save a
file type that was blocked by your registry policy settings in
Word 2007 or in Word 2003".

If you don't feel comfortable manually editing the registry,
there is a .reg file available at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/8/B/28B644CE-9A30-4D99-AFEF-830A4FB5B839/UnblockWord.reg
.. All you need to do with the .reg file is download it and
double-click it to merge into your Windows registry, restart your
computer, and the older Word file types will no longer be blocked.

See “Information about certain file types that are blocked after you install
Office 2003 Service Pack 3†at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=938810.
Method 1 is the one you want. Download the reg file to your desktop and
double-click on it to merge it with the Registry.
