pptp vpn and not routing internet traffic

Hi all
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get windows xp pro to not route
general internet traffic over a pptp vpn link.
I want non-vpn traffic to go from my system rather than be routed over the
vpn.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Uncheck "Use default gateway on remote network" on the client's VPN
connection properties.

I assume you mean in the tcpip properties of the vpn connection. Unchecking
this box does allow my internet traffic to flow, but now the vpn traffic
doesn't work. I'm wondering if this is a misconfiguration at the server
end?
