PPTools Optimizer

Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit, PowerPoint 2007 ( trial version )
I am probably posting to the wrong newsgroup, but since it is related to
power point, I'll give it a try.
I have downloaded PPTools Optimizer. When I tried to run it, I was told it
could not be done because I needed to give " read & write " permission. I
never have the need to play with the security and permissions, so I am not
sure how to.
Can some one lead me through this. Obviously I am not a geek, but I am quite
comfortable with computer.
P.S. Is there another comparable software with which I can " shrink " the
size of the PP file ? Thank you.

Thank you. Will give it a try.
But first, I have to download the software again.
I had un-installed it, my temper got the better of me.

Short version: Run the installer again; this time, don't accept the default
location; instead, click Browse and choose your Username folder to install
to.

I follow the instruction stated above. It did not ask for read/write
permissions any more.
I ran it, and it went as far to the point where the little dialog box that
says, " Optimizing...... setting up. " IT STOPPED THERE.
I waited for over 1/2 hour, nothing moved. I put the curser over the "
setting up ", and I saw a word " working ".
That was it. I clicked the red X and got out.
So, what's next ?
Brief run down of what I did :
Save the presentation, then -----
Click Add-ins > PPTools > RNR Optimizer > Optimize >OK > and the dialog
described above. No more action from then on.
